This huge building, designed by the Madrid Baroque architect Pedro de Ribera, construction began in 1718 for Headquarters Guards Corps de Felipe V. The building suffered a fire in the mid-nineteenth century, it was in a degraded and ruinous situation without the beauty of the great ruins, when restoration work began. The restoration involved a total change of uses since it went to an extensive cultural program, with the advantage of bringing together in one building various cultural and documentation of Madrid City Council services. We can observe how was the building before the start of the rehabilitation works and after their completion, the magnitude of the work prevents us from exposing the large amount of work done, we wanted to make a brief summary of the images, which help to understand the dimension and complexity of the work
